Welcome to the bewitching world of Circus Dinogad in which Welsh contralto Hilary Summers, the Dutch theorbo & bass clarinet duo Mike Fentross & Maarten Ornstein and the Dudok Quartet Amsterdam converge in a fusion of musical traditions.

Tony Overwater is an award winning bass player whose sound and unique way of playing have established him as a key player in the European music world. He is a remarkable solo performer and leader of his own projects but also a collaborative and attentive sideman. "Up Close" has been recorded in the Mennonite Church in Amsterdam, which means that the recording 'breathes' and Overwater's bass sounds closer than ever. This album also features Yuri Honing & Maarten Ornstein.

The Jungle Boldie consists of three of Hollands most renowned jazz musicians. Overwater, Ornstein and Kegel met at the Royal Conservatory in the Hague during their studies and have been playing together ever since. They have the shared vision of what it is to play and perform ‘free’ music in the true sense of the word - creating a joyful interplay without any assumptions. "Jungle Boldie" features a pure sound painted by this unity, from the heart - in the strumming of strings,in the striking of sticks, in the sliding of screams.

Laula! is the third album by Mike Fentross and Maarten Ornstein; following our debut duo album, Oblivion Soave and having worked with Rima Khcheich on our second album Ombre de Mon Amant, we are once again collaborating with an extraordinary singer — the Estonian mezzo-soprano Kadri Tegelmann. She is not only a superb interpreter of the Baroque music, as featured here, but she also introduced us to the deep and rich tradition of Baltic vocal music with its many folksongs, hymns and chants.
