Fifteen years later, but well worth the wait, Joel Haynes is back with his third album 'The Return' on Cellar Music. The Toronto-based drummer laid down the album in Vancouver with an all-star band including Seamus Blake on saxophone, Neil Swainson on bass, and Tilden Webb on piano. Fine original compositions are juxtaposed by some killer covers including 'Tomorrow Never Knows' by The Beatles.

A unique Jazz album entitled "The Jazz Side of The Moon" is the next in Chesky Records series of newly recorded Jazz performances. The album is subtitled “The Music of Pink Floyd” and as you might guess, it presents a new take on the classic album "The Dark Side of The Moon" by Pink Floyd. To create a Jazz interpretation of The Dark Side of the Moon, album Co-Producer and Hammond B3 Organ player Sam Yahel called on three top Jazz artists to join him in this project. They are Mike Moreno on Electric & Acoustic Guitars, Ari Hoenig on Drums and Seamus Blake playing the Tenor Sax.

One of the most compelling pianists in mainstream jazz, Mr. Reed is an intensely upbeat presence. Where most jazz pianists after McCoy Tyner and Herbie Hancock grew introspective, he has gone the other way, toward harder work with the right hand and bright harmonies. This album features music dedicated to the memories of Mulgrew Miller, Cedar Walton, Marian McPartland, and the jazz soldiers past and present who continue to keep the music going "until the last cat has swung".

Emanuele Filippi, from Udine, recently received a very prestigious endorsement from Enrico Rava, who described him as “one of the best pianists of the new generation”. At U&J, accompanied by Canadian saxophonist Seamus Blake. The repertoire, entirely original, has an intimate character, refined sonorities and intense expressive sensitivity and nuances deriving from the tradition of contemporary jazz, classical and pop music. Emanuele Filippi has collaborated with important musicians such as: Fabrizio Bosso, Seamus Blake, Soweto Kinch, Chris Morrissey, Jure Pukl; he lived in New York, where he studied with Fred Hersch and currently resides in Paris.
