Released in 1972, a completely unknown formation from the underground of the Italian prog movement, Akarma believes that all of the musicians contained here are of Italian origin, but it is unclear. The liner notes on the cover don’t help either. The band was comprised of 7 members and they presented a sound comparable to British groups from the 70’s like Jethro Tull, Audience, or Family. In fact in one of the first tracks they play a cover of “Dharma For One”, plus they offer two other covers later on, “Eye To Eye” & “I Have A Dream”.

Whilst the continents contribution to the global funk, boogie and disco canon has been well documented for decades, the strong presence of rock and psychedelia in 1970's African music has been a more slowly evolving story over the years.

Led by Garth Watt-Roy and his younger brother (future Blockhead) Norman, five-piece Harlow band Living Daylights signed with Beatles publisher Dick James in 1967. Paired with a studio production team that included Caleb Quaye, the band were given a song that James published, 'Let's Live For Today', as their debut single. Released in April 1967, it entered Radio London's Fab Forty after being championed by the pirate station's DJ John Peel. Also issued in America, the song showed significant sales potential, and Dick James decided the band should record an album that would be rushed out if the single became a success. Unfortunately, 'Let's Live For Today' lost out to a cover version by American band The Grass Roots, who scored a US Top Ten hit. Without a hit to support it, the Living Daylights' album failed to appear, and the band split after a second single failed to find favour. 55 years later, that album finally gains a release, with mono and stereo mixes joined by their UK singles and American and Japanese versions. 'Let's Live For Today: The Complete Recordings' is a vital addition to the pantheon of British psychedelic pop albums from the epochal year of 1967.

The first two albums of Greek progressive underground legends Pete & Royce on one authorised factory pressed deluxe CD. Both these nearly impossible to find progressive albums, that were originally released in 1980 and 1981 respectively in Greece as limited private editions, are mastered by members from the original line-up of the band, offering a vivid and authentic "close-to-analog" sound.
Pete & Royce were one of the few local progressive bands operating in the Greek late 70s underground scene. Led by painter Panayiotis Tsiros, they have made a name in the underground network, based on lengthy "hazy" concerts and an uncompromising underground attitude through pink floydian soundscapes.

Born in late 2011, Human Factor is an exciting Russian group formed by talented and experienced musicians. Konstantin Shtirlitz and Alexander Meshcheryakov, respectively former drummer and bassist with mighty Infront, have joined forces with keyboardist and guitarists Sergei Volkov, principle composer and arranger for Kaftan Smeha, and guitarist Ivan Ivanov of Hagi Tragger. The band’s music is probably best described as modern instrumental rock with major space and progressive rock influences, strong melodic edge, and definite sense of adventure: tracks segue one into the other, atmospheres are established and broken, some rhythm patterns have progressive-like complexity, but the primary attention is given to strengthening a sense of enjoyable aural journey. This is an excellent, mature recordings which fans of good instrumental rock music.

Demon Thor was one of the most sensational continental rock groups in the '70s, despite only a short existence: first German band on the legendary Musikladen TV show, first ever appearance at Circus Kronebau in Munich, music awards from France and England, worldwide release of the two LPs by United Artists. The group was a fusion of the Swiss rock scene between Tommy Fortmann and Krokodil, and the singers Geff Harrison, Peter Bischof, and Oliver Freytag. The CD contains tracks from the albums Anno 1972 and Written In The Sky, originally released in 1972 and 1973 respectively. The tracks were produced at Dierks Studios by Dieter Dierks.

Live Grape is a 1978 album by Moby Grape, released by Escape Records, of live performances of the band at two venues in California, the Shady Grove in San Francisco and the Inn of the Beginning in Cotati. The album features core members Peter Lewis, Jerry Miller and Skip Spence. Original members Bob Mosley and Don Stevenson did not participate in the recordings, though Bob Mosley did appear with the band on occasion during this period. At the time, band members were in a protracted legal dispute with former manager Matthew Katz over ownership of the Moby Grape band name. As a result, Moby Grape is not named anywhere on the cover. The album was originally released by Escape Records in 1978. It was reissued on CD by Line Records in 1994 and Akarma Records in 2007.

After the mildly disappointing Alternative 4, Anathema strikes back with Judgement. Upon first listen, the music and message seem a bit mellow for these doomy metal moguls. Second listen is like a magical rediscovery of a lost art form, the art of creating simple, depressing hard rock that is so emotionally expressive that it bends one's own constitution. Quiet and introspective on songs like "One Last Goodbye" and "Anyone, Anywhere," Anathema has the ability to spew forth raw, volcanic pain on cuts like "Judgement" and "Pitiless" - the last of which contains the most heart-wrenching solo the Cavanagh brothers have ever penned. Drummer John Douglas also surprises, making an amazing contribution to the album, by writing two of the most memorable songs, "Don't Look Too Far" and "Wings of God." The first is a gorgeous Porcupine Tree-like tune with somewhat upbeat female vocals and melodies…

Jonathon was a huge man, very huge according to the people who met him, he also had a huge voice and wide open way of musical thoughts. His roaring theatrical version of "Sympathy For The Devil" made an effect by the time it's release, but couldn't drift the album to make the splatter that he expected and the sales stood in low numbers. That of course means nothing at all, the rest album keeps the high stature, from the opening "In Quest Of Unicorn" to his aspect of the Bee Gees "To Love Somebody" we are tasting some great vocal work, supplemented by musicianship which is practically beyond reproach.

Its smirky title notwithstanding, The Worst of Jefferson Airplane provides a fine recap of the band's first six albums. Released in 1970 shortly before Marty Balin's initial departure from the band, the album marked not only the end of the decade but, unwittingly, the end of the group's most stable phase in terms of membership. The track selections are evenly divided among the first-generation albums; only the live Bless Its Pointed Little Head is represented by a single entry…

Damon. This is the artistic name of David Del Conte, a genius American gypsy musician who is responsible of probably the rarest and most sought-after psychedelic music album of all time. We're talking about his debut album, "Song of a Gypsy", which was originally released in 1968. This album has a totally unique sound, with the "crooner-like" voice of Damon, the omnipresent melodic fuzz guitar of Charlie Carey and truly atmospheric melodies. It's ordinary psychedelic rock music, not quite as strange or exotic as some word-of-mouth would imply. There's plenty of searing fuzz guitar, soul-searching and -probing lyrics with a mystical gauze, and, frankly, minimal melodic variety throughout the ten tracks, which have a slight Eastern flavor. It's not a mainstream record by any means, but it's not stunningly weird or innovative either.
