BMG are to reissue Scottish post-punk band Associates’ first three albums as two-CD deluxe editions, along with a new double-disc anthology. Formed in Scotland in 1976 by Billy MacKenzie (vocals) and Alan Rankine (synths / guitars / programming), the pair settled on the name Associates in 1979 after a short period as The Ascorbic Ones and then for a while in 1979 with the moniker Mental Torture. Their debut album The Affectionate Punch was eventually released (on the Fiction label) in August 1980. The following year the band issued six singles (on another label, Situation Two) whose A and B-sides were gathered on the next long-player, compilation Fourth Drawer Down.

"Remember Me and You," "Tell Me Baby" and "Love Me Too" contain all the elements that make pop music so enchanting and enticing. When BOS get all gooey on ballads such as "Lovers," "Close to Me" and "Photograph," the effects are mesmerizing. Esoteric Recordings are pleased to announce the release of a new 3 Disc digipack edition (of two CDs and an NTSC – Region Free DVD) of a previously unreleased concert by WAX, recorded in Harrogate in November 1987. WAX was a collaboration between two highly respected song writers and musicians, namely American ANDREW GOLD and GRAHAM GOULDMAN. Both Gold and Gouldman had enjoyed successful careers before coming together. Andrew Gold had recorded four acclaimed albums for Asylum Records and had enjoyed hits with such classic songs as ‘Lonely Boy’, ‘Never Let Her Slip Away’, ‘Thank You For Being a Friend’ and ‘Kiss This One Goodbye’. Graham Gouldman had been a successful songwriter in the 1960s and was a member of 10CC from their formation in the early 1970s, being a co-writer of many of their hit singles and acclaimed albums.

Style Council's first proper album Cafe Bleu was one of their better efforts, but it indicated the group's fatal flaw – a tendency to be too eclectic and overambitious. Amidst the lazy jazz instrumentals, many of them courtesy of Mick Talbot, Paul Weller inserted several solid soul-tinged pop songs, including "My Ever Changing Moods," "Headstart for Happiness," "You're the Best Thing," and "Here's One That Got Away." However, that doesn't excuse the rap experiment, "A Gospel." The album was later released with a slightly different running order as My Ever Changing Moods in the U.S.; the American edition included the U.K. hit "A Solid Bond in Your Heart".

Miguel Mateos / ZAS, originally known as ZAS, was an Argentine rock group, one of the most emblematic of both Argentine rock and Spanish rock in the 1980s, and one of the most representative of the movement known as rock en your language that revitalized the rock scene throughout Latin America.

ZAS was formed in 1979 and just two years later, even without recording, it was the opening act for Queen on their visit to Argentina — the presentation was a success and paved the way for their record debut. ZAS was one of the leading bands in the revitalization of post-Malvinas Argentine rock, and became a phenomenon at the time of the return of democracy: for example, their album Rockas Vivas (1985) conquered the record for best-selling album of Argentine rock. Shortly after, ZAS began to tour throughout the American continent, becoming one of the most influential bands in rock in Spanish, and would even be the first Argentine band to play in the United States on September 7, 1989. Various factors caused ZAS disbanded in late 1989 and Mateos began his solo career.
