A talented altoist influenced by David Sanborn, Brandon Fields has the versatility to be able to play both R&B/crossover and hard bop. Fields grew up in Orange County, CA, and started playing alto when he was ten. A freelance musician since he was a teenager, Fields moved to Los Angeles in 1982 and has worked steadily ever since. He toured with George Benson in 1985, was a regular member of the Rippingtons, has long been a busy session player, and recorded CDs as a leader for Nova and Positive. This release is his Jazz tribute to Stewie Wonder.

Brandon Fields is no stranger to recording. His first time in the studio was in 1976, and since then he has appeared on hundreds of albums. His record credits read like a “who’s who” of the musicbusiness, including Nancy Wilson, Phil Upchurch, George Duke, Stanley Clark, Ricky Peterson, Tower of Power, Terence Trent D’Arby, Elton John, Neil Diamond, Luther Vandross, Tom Petty, Quincy Jones, Los Lobotomys, Neil Larsen, Luis Conte, Alphonse Mouzon, Bill Meyers, Al Jarreau, Robben Ford, the Rippingtons, Alex Acuna, David Benoit, Michael McDonald, David Garfield, Lionel Richie, Harry Connick Jr., and Dave Weckl. Brandon has also been a featured player on several movie soundtracks, including “Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me,” “Class Action,” “Bull Durham,” “2 Days in The Valley,” “The Preacher’s Wife,” and “Waiting to Exhale.”

When he’s not in the recording studio, Brandon Fields stays busy doing live shows and touring around the world. Brandon is a very energetic and entertaining Jazz saxophonist combining his wide range of influences and experiences into his own unique contemporary mainstream style. He has also toured with several successful acts including George Benson (1985-86), The Rippingtons (1987-89), Tower of Power (early 1990’s), Earth Wind and Fire(1995), and with the Dave Weckl Band.
