DNV GeniE 8.8-08 | 491.8 mb

DNV, the world-leading provider of software for managing risk and improving asset performance in the energy, process and maritime industries, has released GeniE 8.8-08 is a tool for concept (high level geometry) modelling of beams, flat plates and stiffened shells.

Supported operating systems:
- Windows 10 64bit
- Windows 11 64bit
The following versions, or later, of Sesam applications should be used with this version of GeniE:
- Sestra 10.17-02
- Splice 8.0-01 (but it is required to use the upcoming Splice 8.1 for import of springs along piles)
- Submod 3.3-01
- Wajac 7.10-00
- Xtract 6.1-01
- Usfos 9.0-00
- Framework 4.4-00
- Stofat 4.1-02
- Sesam Converters 2.3-04
- Sesam Connector 1.0-03
- Sesam Core 2.0.0
- Nauticus Hull x86 - January 2018 - 18.15.97.1985
- Nauticus Hull 64bit – September 2023 - 20.29.2310.1204
- License Manager V11.19-02 (Flexnet V11.19 for license manager and dongle driver)

Highlighted features

Support for multiple soil conditions The user can now assign a specific location for each pile. Each pile in a model can therefore have different soil conditions that the other piles in the same model. The mesh of each pile is adjusted according to the soil sub-layers of the assigned location.
Soil linearisation along the pile When running a pile-soil analysis using Splice 8.1 or later, equivalent linear soil springs at each soil sub-layer are calculated and exported into a file. This file with the springs can be imported into GeniE and the piles can be replaced with beam elements to create a linearised foundation.
Earthquake analysis The user can now run an earthquake analysis from GeniE and execute code checks in GeniE based on combinations with earthquake analysis results. The license FRAMEWORK__EQRK is required in order to model earthquake data and execute the earthquake analysis in GeniE 8.8.

Compatibility:
- Versions of other Sesam applications that should be used with this version of GeniE.
- The database file format (GNX file) used for this version of GeniE is kept upwards compatible with subsequent GeniE versions.
- There is a new feature introduced in GeniE V8.2 called Dual Assembly, which is available as an option when creating a new workspace:
* With the Dual Assemby enabled, old JS files are normally not compatible for stiffened shell models.
* Old GNX and XML files can be imported into a database with Dual Assembly enabled.
* New GNX and XML files created with Dual Assembly can also be imported into a database with Dual Assembly disabled.
However, any Plate Seams (and Plate Segments) will then be lost, since they are only available with Dual Assembly.
- The workspace export (GNX file) from V7.2-07 and later may be imported into this version of GeniE.

DNV GeniE 8.8-08

The DNV GL Sesam software is a complete strength assessment system for engineering of ships, offshore structures and risers based on the finite element methodology.
Sesam GeniE is a tool for designing and analysing offshore and maritime structures made of beams and plates – integrating stability, loading, strength assessment and CAD exchange. It is part of the Sesam suite, covering the entire lifecycle of fixed and floating structures from design, structural re-analysis systems, modifications and repair, and input to the operational phase, emergency response and decommissioning. While Sesam has evolved as a market-driven modular system enabling users to invest in a package of selected modules, integrated packages have also been developed to cover specific needs. This allows for tailor-made Sesam installations to features in a cost-efficient way. All packages cover in-place, installation, transportation, accidental conditions and operational aspects. The Sesam suite of software provides seamless import of data between modules, allowing our users to easily integrate the use of solutions such as Sesam HydroD for hydrodynamic and hydrostatic analysis, Sesam DeepC for mooring and riser design, Sesam Marine for simulating, testing and evaluating marine operations, Sesam Pipeline for offshore pipelines and Sesam Wind for ultimate strength and fatigue analysis of offshore wind turbine substructures.
