Cat Power is back with her first new album in six years. It’s called Wanderer, and it’s out October 5 via Domino. The follow-up to Sun was produced by Chan Marshall herself and includes a song called “Woman” featuring Lana Del Rey.

Wide open, horses is a candid snapshot of everything that has brought James to this point. The album signifes a retaking of his own narrative, a freeing self- acceptance, and a rebuilding of both his sense of self and his connection to music. Singles "Stay Cool", "Never Gone" and "Give up" offer a frst taste of what fans can expect, leaning further into the introspective and sincere indie- folk sound of his earlier material, whilst incorporating elements of his more explorative later releases.

An inquisitive, complex and fully matured album from an artist who has travelled long and far. Campbell was first noticed as a teenage founder member of Belle & Sebastian, before she released two dream-folk solo albums under the name The Gentle Waves and left B&S in 2002. Two records under her own name followed, leading to a union with late rock-carved growler Mark Lanegan for three albums of gravel’n’honey Americana duets, where Lanegan would stand aside while Campbell called the creative shots.
