Two-time Grammy winner Diane Schuur, a leading vocalist in contemporary jazz, pays tribute to her important mentors Frank Sinatra and Stan Getz on this album with all new arrangements by pianist Alan Broadbent. "I Remember You" was released in 2014 to commemorate Schuur's "official" discovery 35 years earlier by Getz at the 1979 Monterey Jazz Festival.
Although she emulates and resembles in style the great jazz singers of the '40s and '50s, vocalist and pianist Diane Schuur doesn't just reanimate the classic jazz songbook; she expands it by also bringing modern pop songs into the fold, and in her three-decade career, she has tackled songs from nearly every corner of the popular music landscape. For this set she pays homage to her two main mentors, Stan Getz and Frank Sinatra.
