Analysis in Banach Spaces: Volume III: Harmonic Analysis and Spectral Theory

Analysis in Banach Spaces: Volume III: Harmonic Analysis and Spectral Theory by Tuomas Hytönen , Jan van Neerven , Mark Veraar , Lutz Weis
English | PDF (True) | 2023 | 839 Pages | ISBN : 3031465970 | 15.2 MB

This third volume of Analysis in Banach Spaces offers a systematic treatment of Banach space-valued singular integrals, Fourier transforms, and function spaces. It further develops and ramifies the theory of functional calculus from Volume II and describes applications of these new notions and tools to the problem of maximal regularity of evolution equations. The exposition provides a unified treatment of a large body of results, much of which has previously only been available in the form of research papers. Some of the more classical topics are presented in a novel way using modern techniques amenable to a vector-valued treatment. Thanks to its accessible style with complete and detailed proofs, this book will be an invaluable reference for researchers interested in functional analysis, harmonic analysis, and the operator-theoretic approach to deterministic and stochastic evolution equations.

Wavelet Transforms and Time-Frequency Signal Analysis

Wavelet Transforms and Time-Frequency Signal Analysis by Lokenath Debnath
English | PDF | 2001 | 444 Pages | ISBN : 0817641041 | 38.1 MB

The last fifteen years have produced major advances in the mathematical theory of wavelet transforms and their applications to science and engineering. In an effort to inform researchers in mathematics, physics, statistics, computer science, and engineering and to stimulate furtherresearch, an NSF-CBMS Research Conference on Wavelet Analysis was organized at the University of Central Florida in May 1998. Many distinguished mathematicians and scientists from allover the world participated in the conference and provided a digest of recent developments, open questions, and unsolved problems in this rapidly growing and important field. As a follow-up project, this monograph was developed from manuscripts sub mitted by renowned mathematicians and scientists who have made important contributions to the subject of wavelets, wavelet transforms, and time-frequency signal analysis. This publication brings together current developments in the theory and applications of wavelet transforms and in the field of time-frequency signal analysis that are likely to determine fruitful directions for future advanced study and research.

Analog and Digital Signals and Systems

Analog and Digital Signals and Systems by R. K. Rao Yarlagadda
English | PDF (True) | 2010 | 556 Pages | ISBN : 1441900330 | 15.5 MB

This book presents a systematic, comprehensive treatment of analog and discrete signal analysis and synthesis and an introduction to analog communication theory. This evolved from my 40 years of teaching at Oklahoma State University (OSU). It is based on three courses, Signal Analysis (a second semester junior level course), Active Filters (a first semester senior level course), and Digital signal processing (a second semester senior level course). I have taught these courses a number of times using this material along with existing texts. The references for the books and journals (over 160 references) are listed in the bibliography section. At the undergraduate level, most signal analysis courses do not require probability theory. Only, a very small portion of this topic is included here. I emphasized the basics in the book with simple mathematics and the soph- tication is minimal. Theorem-proof type of material is not emphasized. The book uses the following model: 1. Learn basics 2. Check the work using bench marks 3. Use software to see if the results are accurate The book provides detailed examples (over 400) with applications. A thr- number system is used consisting of chapter number – section number – example or problem number, thus allowing the student to quickly identify the related material in the appropriate section of the book. The book includes well over 400 homework problems. Problem numbers are identified using the above three-number system.

Hilbert-Huang Transform Analysis of Hydrological and Environmental Time Series

Hilbert-Huang Transform Analysis of Hydrological and Environmental Time Series by A. Ramachandra Rao
English | PDF | 2008 | 250 Pages | ISBN : 1402064535 | 85.8 MB

The Hilbert-Huang Transform ((HHT) is a recently developed technique which is used to analyze nonstationary data. Hydrologic and environmental series are, in the main, analyzed by using techniques which were developed for stationary data. This has led to problems of interpretation of the results. Environmental and hydrologic series are quite often nonstationary. The basic objective of the material discussed in this book is to analyze these data by using methods based on the Hilbert-Huang transform. These results are compared to the results from the traditional methods such as those based on Fourier transform and other classical statistical tests.

Classical Fourier Analysis by Loukas Grafakos
English | PDF | 2008 | 494 Pages | ISBN : 0387094318 | 4.9 MB

The primary goal of these two volumes is to present the theoretical foundation of the field of Euclidean Harmonic analysis. The original edition was published as a single volume, but due to its size, scope, and the addition of new material, the second edition consists of two volumes. The present edition contains a new chapter on time-frequency analysis and the Carleson-Hunt theorem.

The Regularized Fast Hartley Transform: Low-Complexity Parallel Computation of the FHT in One and Multiple Dimensions by Keith John Jones
English | EPUB | 2022 | 325 Pages | ISBN : 3030682447 | 22.2 MB

This book describes how a key signal/image processing algorithm – that of the fast Hartley transform (FHT) or, via a simple conversion routine between their outputs, of the real‑data version of the ubiquitous fast Fourier transform (FFT) – might best be formulated to facilitate computationally-efficient solutions.

Foundations of Time-Frequency Analysis

Foundations of Time-Frequency Analysis by Karlheinz Gröchenig
English | PDF | 2001 | 367 Pages | ISBN : 0817640223 | 25.8 MB

Time-frequency analysis is a modern branch of harmonic analysis. It com prises all those parts of mathematics and its applications that use the struc ture of translations and modulations (or time-frequency shifts) for the anal ysis of functions and operators. Time-frequency analysis is a form of local Fourier analysis that treats time and frequency simultaneously and sym metrically. My goal is a systematic exposition of the foundations of time-frequency analysis, whence the title of the book.

Reassessing Riemann's Paper: On the Number of Primes Less Than a Given Magnitude by Walter Dittrich
English | EPUB | 2021 | 110 Pages | ISBN : 3030610489 | 13.1 MB

In this book, the author pays tribute to Bernhard Riemann (1826-1866), a mathematician with revolutionary ideas, whose work on the theory of integration, the Fourier transform, the hypergeometric differential equation, etc. contributed immensely to mathematical physics. The text concentrates in particular on Riemann’s only work on prime numbers, including ideas – new at the time – such as analytical continuation into the complex plane and the product formula for entire functions. A detailed analysis of the zeros of the Riemann zeta-function is presented. The impact of Riemann’s ideas on regularizing infinite values in field theory is also emphasized.

In a hypothetical conversation between a trader in interest-rate derivatives and a quantitative analyst, Brigo and Mercurio (2001) let the trader answer about the pros and cons of short rate models: ”… we should be careful in thinking market models are the final and complete solution to all problems in interest rate models … and who knows, maybe short rate models will come back one day…”
