Problems and Theorems in Analysis: Series · Integral Calculus · Theory of Functions by George Pólya , Gabor Szegö
English | PDF | 1972 | 410 Pages | ISBN : 0387902244 | 23.1 MB

The present English edition is not a mere translation of the German original. Many new problems have been added and there are also other changes, mostly minor. Yet all the alterations amount to less than ten percent of the text. We intended to keep intact the general plan and the original flavor of the work. Thus we have not introduced any essentially new subject matter, although the mathematical fashion has greatly changed since 1924. We have restricted ourselves to supplementing the topics originally chosen. Some of our problems first published in this work have given rise to extensive research. To include all such developments would have changed the character of the work, and even an incomplete account, which would be unsatisfactory in itself, would have cost too much labor and taken up too much space. We have to thank many readers who, since the publication of this work almost fifty years ago, communicated to us various remarks on it, some of which have been incorporated into this edition. We have not listed their names; we have forgotten the origin of some contributions, and an incomplete list would have been even less desirable than no list. The first volume has been translated by Mrs. Dorothee Aeppli, the second volume by Professor Claude Billigheimer. We wish to express our warmest thanks to both for the unselfish devotion and scrupulous conscientiousness with which they attacked their far from easy task.

This book discusses the Fourier transform (FT), which is one of the most valuable and widely used integral transforms that converts a signal from time versus amplitude to frequency versus amplitude. It is one of the oldest tools in the time-frequency analysis of signals. The book includes five chapters that discuss general Fourier transforms as well as new and novel transforms such as hybrid transforms, quadratic-phase Fourier transforms, fractional Fourier transforms, linear canonical transforms, and more.

Mathematics for Biomedical Physics
English | PDF | 2022 | 240 Pages | ISBN : N/A | 11.66 MB

Mathematics for Biomedical Physics is an open access peer-reviewed textbook geared to introduce several mathematical topics at the rudimentary level so that students can appreciate the applications of mathematics to the interdisciplinary field of biomedical physics. Most of the topics are presented in their simplest but rigorous form so that students can easily understand the advanced form of these topics when the need arises. Several end-of-chapter problems and chapter examples relate the applications of mathematics to biomedical physics. After mastering the topics of this book, students would be ready to embark on quantitative thinking in various topics of biology and medicine.

Integral Calculus for Engineers by Gavriil Paltineanu, Ileana Bucur, Mariana Zamfir
English | PDF,EPUB(True) | 2022 | 263 Pages | ISBN : 9811947929 | 32.1 MB

The book mainly deals with basic concepts and examples about integral calculus such as indefinite integral, definite integral, improper integrals, integrals dependent on parameters, lines integrals, double and triple integrals, and surface integrals. These basic elements of integral calculus are well presented in this book, and they are indispensable for students in higher technical education to successfully approach other theoretical or technical disciplines.
