After 16 years as the front woman for Delain, Charlotte Wessels started releasing music under her own name in 2020. Her new album The Obsession will be out Sept 20th, 2024. Wessels already made a mark with her earlier solo endeavors, Tales From Six Feet Under Vol I (2021) and II (2022). These pandemic compilations of songs written, recorded and produced in her basement home studio showcased her ability to blend musical styles and deeply personal lyrics. Upcoming album The Obsession will build on this foundation, offering an even more immersive and powerful musical experience.

A newly expanded and remastered EP version of Toyah’s 1983 Top 30 single ‘Rebel Run’ is releon 20 September and available exclusively from Cherry Red Records from Friday 5 July 2024. This specially expanded EP is a pre-cursor to the forthcoming Cherry Red reissue of the Toyah band’s final studio album ‘Love Is The Law’. The EP is also the second in a series of special Toyah 10″ vinyl EP releases following the 2023 Brave New World vinyl EP.

Erland Cooper’s new album Carve the Runes Then Be Content With Silence. The album is a recording of Cooper’s brand new three-movement composition for solo violin and string ensemble. The work marks the centenary of celebrated Orkney poet George Mackay Brown, as 2021 marks 100 years since his birth. Inspired by natural landscapes and ruminating on time, hope, community and patience, the sole recording of the work – on ¼ inch magnetic tape, with the digital files permanently deleted – has been planted to grow and be nurtured or “recomposed” by the earth, before being exhumed and released in three years’ time. Whilst Cooper will not be unearthing the tape until 2024, he has left a trail for anyone to search and find it if they wish. A map with clues to the location of the planting site will be released via his digital platforms. If the planted tape is found, Erland will invite the discoverer to his studio to embark on a journey together for the treasured first listen. It will then be released exactly as it sounds from the earth.

Champian Fulton is a talented singer/pianist from Oklahoma who now resides in New York City. She learned music from his father who is a renowned jazz trumpeter and educator. Champian graduated from the State University of New York with a music degree in 2006. In this fabulous debut album, she shows the full extent of her talent: sunny, lovely, expressive and soulful singing voice and formidable, bebop-based piano chops. She is ably supported by fellow New York residents, Neal Miner on bass and Fukushi Tainaka on drums.

Benjamin David "Benny" Goodman was an American jazz clarinetist and bandleader known as the "King of Swing". In the mid-1930s, Goodman led one of the most popular musical groups in the United States. Goodman's bands launched the careers of many major jazz artists. During an era of racial segregation, he led one of the first well-known integrated jazz groups. Goodman performed nearly to the end of his life while exploring an interest in classical music.

In 1803 Beethoven received a piano from Erard Frères in Paris. Why had he been so keen to own a French instrument and how did it inspire him, both as a pianist and a composer? The answer may lie in these performances on a new replica of Beethoven’s French piano, created as part of a unique research project. Placing the iconic “Waldstein” and “Appassionata” sonatas alongside equally grand pieces by two of his Parisian contemporaries, they reveal an unfamiliar French aspect to Beethoven’s genius.

Growing up in the shadow of his father, the great Jimmy Rogers, co-creator of the Muddy Waters sound, architect of the two-guitar heart of the postwar Chicago blues band, was a daunting experience for Jimmy D. Lane. But it's also a fondly remembered one. Actually he was daunted by a whole gang of big shadows as he came of age. Regular visitors to the Rogers home included a Who's Who of that '50s and '60s golden era of Chicago blues. With "Legacy", his second album for APO Records, Jimmy D. Joseph Carl Firrantello, known as Joe Farrell, was an American jazz saxophonist and flautist. He is best known for a series of albums under his own name on the CTI record label and for playing in the initial incarnation of Chick Corea's "Return to Forever". "Upon This Rock" is his album, released in 1974.
