In his return to Dronarivm five years since A Different Definition of Love, Brock Van Wey, aka bvdub, presents his second-ever full-length, monolithic work at just over 79 minutes, continuing his quest to blur all lines of genre and definition just as the barriers between sleep and waking life –imagined and real – continue to break down and disappear further by the day… a life of consuming madness continuing its guise as grand artistic vision.

Pole returns with another busted, bass-heavy woozer after 2020's unexpected "Fading". His most jazz-inspired record to date, it's stripped to the bare bones, assembled with brushy acoustic drum sounds, broken synthesizers and gut-wrenching subs.

The latest by veteran Brock Van Wey’s renowned and illustrious alias, bvdub demonstrates aural patience that gradually unravels throughout this two and a half hour long player. Brock’s grandiose approach to sound creation has been incredibly influential for both the listener and fellow artists, acknowledging that only few can execute the open spaces and cerebral attentiveness that Van Wey illustrates so effortlessly. ‘Slowly Shifting Lakes’ is the manifestation of liberation not limitation, exploring the malleability of time.

The final moment in the trilogy of mystical sound. Myst Segments / Fragments / Central Key - All this is one sound matter, and the Nexus is a closing point. Besides my own hypnotic remixes, here are two atmospheric works by Marcel Frehse (The Nautilus Project) and Rocco Biscione (Ocralab). It's a deep mental journey through foggy forest and solution in magical space.

The Soft Pink Truth is Drew Daniel, who also forms one half of acclaimed electronic duo Matmos. Started as an outlet to explore visceral and sublime sounds that fall outside of Matmos’ purview, it draws on knowledge of rave, black metal, and crust punk obscurities to subvert and critique genre expectations. On this record Daniel takes a bold and surprising new direction, moving beyond simple plunderphonic sampling and opening up a genuine dialogue with other musicians, Daniel left room in his compositions for moments of genuine surprise, capturing the freeform, communal energy of a DJ set or live improvisation session more than a recording project.
