Prefuse 73 aka Guillermo Scott Herren announces his new album, New Strategies for Modern Crime Vol. 1. His first new album since 2018’s Sacrifices, New Strategies for Modern Crime Vol. 1 sees Herren delving further into his ground breaking take on experimental hip-hop through orchestrated arrangements via the optic of the media’s sensationalism of crime, blended with influences from lost soundtracks, musique concrète, jazz and beat-tape music to create something wholly unique.

In spring 1994 Mouse on Mars contributed an exclusive piece to Sähkö Recordings’ ambient radio project, a one-week public radio program that was aired citywide in Helsinki, Finland. Andi Toma and Jan St. Werner recorded sounds in and around their studio in Düsseldorf Bilk to construct one continuous composition that spanned the course of one neighborhood walk.

Everyday Is The Song is Joni Void’s third album for Constellation and a deeper plunge into emotive audio montage; the Montréal-based French-British producer calls it “Tape Vortex / Musique Verité / Memory Collage”. The album’s raw material relies centrally on a Walkman bought at local record shop Death Of Vinyl in spring 2020 and lost at a Backxwash show two years later, but not before hours of audio snippets were captured and archived.

Cleveland-based producer Tim Thornton makes music under the moniker Tiger Village. Thornton has carved out a niche in the American experimental underground through the wide-spanning releases of his own label Suite 309, as well as through his day job as a quality control supervisor at the Gotta Groove Records manufacturing plant — meaning that his ears serve as the finish line for a vast slate of vinyl projects that hit the market every year. The Celebration, the fourth Tiger Village release on Hausu Mountain since 2014, joins a catalog that includes releases on Orange Milk, Patient Sounds, and HausMo sublabel Blorpus Editions, along with a battery of music self-released through Suite 309.

Aphex Twin will release a new EP through Warp Records. Featuring four new tracks, Blackbox Life Recorder 21f / In A Room7 F760 marks Richard D. James' first new music in five years, following on from 2018's Collapse EP. The release of the new EP will come in the midst of a series of summer tour dates across Europe.

Mysterious Belgian experimental electronics duo Suumhow returns with their third album, Years Failed Successfully. The album opens with the duo's signature melodicism and broken glitched-up beatwork. It then ebbs into more sinewy territory with swaths of pulsing static and overarching widescreen vivid ambiance. It's new ground for the duo that displays some rather aurally fitting symbolism to the state of the pandemic era, with ambient music on the edge of hysterical hope and arrested emotions.

Jamie Teasdale returns to his Kuedo project after a 7 year absence, following a series high-profile sound design and scoring work with a full-length of Vangelis-inspired orchestration and lavishly engineered airlock trap rhythms. Sonically it's somewhere between Emeralds, Rustie and Hudson Mohawke - not bad at all.

Pole returns with another busted, bass-heavy woozer after 2020's unexpected "Fading". His most jazz-inspired record to date, it's stripped to the bare bones, assembled with brushy acoustic drum sounds, broken synthesizers and gut-wrenching subs.

Dismantling the acoustic to feed the electronic, Editions Mego presents Telepath, the new album by Material Object. Born out of a single improvised recording session with a lone Violinist, Telepath is a startling album of future electronic music, resulting in an LP of unique and timeless tracks that reimagine a classic sound for an endless future.

Presence Reverts to Absence is the 6th album from dutch ambient-beats duo Tangent. The album finds Rob- bert Kok and Ralph van Reijendam expanding the Tangent pallet with additions of more poignantly propulsive beatwork and integral modular synth flourishes, which raises their deeply contrasting ethos to new heights.

Autechre have surprise released their second album of the month. PLUS, released digitally at 11 a.m. Eastern on Warp, follows SIGN, the uncharacteristically accessible LP they released on October 16.
