A fine collection including many tracks from Slade's hitmaking heyday, Feel the Noize: Slade Greatest Hits stretches from the group's hit singles of the early '70s beginning with 1971's "Get Down and Get with It" all the way to 1991's "Radio Wall of Sound." In between those two songs is a selection of the group's big, dumb, irresistible, and misspelled hits – "Coz I Luv You," "Take Me Bak 'Ome," "Mama Weer All Crazee Now," "Gudbuy T'Jane," "Cum on Feel the Noize," "Skweeze Me, Pleeze Me." It also features latter-day hits like "My Oh My," but Slade never got better than they did at their stomping glitter-rock peak, and Feel the Noize captures the essence of that era.

This album, recorded at The Summit in Houston, Texas, is taken from the legendary but ultimately damaging Hotel California tour, capturing the Eagles in fine form in the run-up to the release of the aforementioned LP. Broadcast in superb quality over local FM radio, and featuring such favorites as ‘Hotel California,’ ‘Lyin’ Eyes,’ and ‘Desperado’ alongside a couple of Joe Walsh numbers performed by the whole group, this recording offers a rare opportunity to hear the band at the height of their fame and abilities.

This recording is dedicated to German Renaissance composer Ludwig Daser. Paul Van Nevel and the Huelgas Ensemble have recorded two polyphonic masses by the Munich-born composer, who was a contemporary of famous composers such as Orlando di Lasso and Cipriano di Rore. Ludwig Daser came from a wealthy Munich family. His composition teacher was to be the then famous Ludwig Senfl.

Drawing to it a new generation of misfits and miscreants with a penchant for polysexual hedonism, for dressing up and showing out, The Batcave became the dark heart of alternative club culture, just like The Roxy and The Blitz before it.Art school students, ex-punks and psychobillys, boys and girls, gays, straights, don’t-knows and don’t-cares, Camden and Kensington Market stallholders, professional squatters, kids on the dole, kids in bands, nocturnal music journalists, edgy fashionistas, androgynous randoms and even a smattering of bona fide popstars – from Nick Cave to Siouxsie Sioux, Marc Almond, Robert Smith, Killing Joke and Sigue Sigue Sputnik. Long acknowledged as one of the greatest and most influential acoustic guitarists to emerge from the British folk scene, the late John Renbourn is best known to the wider world for his membership of Pentangle, the genre-busting band that he was instrumental in bringing together in 1967. Pentangle's recordings are widely available, most recently with Cherry Red's 2017 highly-acclaimed box set Pentangle: The Albums. However, Renbourn recorded extensively both before and during the band's early genesis, with a trio of solo albums joined by two vital collaborations with American-born folk singer Dorris Henderson as well as Bert And John, his joint album with Bert Jansch in 1966. Housed in a clamshell box that boasts replica album sleeves, some very rare photos and a new essay on the man, Unpentangled anthologises that essential but often overlooked body of early work.

American violinist and violist Miranda Cuckson has established a reputation for her work in the field of new music, especially for her ability to learn difficult pieces quickly and for championing the music of contemporary composers. She was born in Sydney, Australia, but was trained at the Juilliard School from the age of nine until she earned her bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degrees. Cuckson has devoted herself to performing chamber works and solo compositions, and she has given recitals in a variety of venues, including universities, schools, art galleries, and novel concert spaces.

Carly Simon's best album, No Secrets was also her commercial breakthrough, topping the charts and going gold, along with its leadoff single, "You're So Vain." That song set the album's saucy tone, with its air of sexually frank autobiography ("You had me several years ago/When I was still quite naïve") and its reflections on the jet-set lifestyle. But Simon's honesty meant that her lyrical knife was double-edged; now that she felt she had found true love ("The Right Thing to Do," another Top Ten hit, was her celebration of her relationship with James Taylor), she was as willing to acknowledge her own mistakes and regrets as she was to point fingers. But it wasn't only Simon's forthrightness that made the album work; it was also Richard Perry's simple, elegant pop/rock production, which gave Simon's music a buoyancy it previously lacked. And Perry paid particular attention to Simon's vocals in a way that made her more engaging (or at least less grating) to listen to.

Sean Costello was one of the most brilliant blues-based artists of his generation. His deeply soulful singing, songwriting and guitar playing crossed effortlessly between genres. Sean entered the scene as a child prodigy, and soon became regarded as a torchbearer, one of the leading lights of the new century. He had already gained international recognition when he died tragically in 2008, on the eve of his 29th birthday. IN THE MAGIC SHOP is Sean Costello’s previously unreleased 2005 studio album, produced in New York City by his longtime friend, collaborator and advocate, four-time Grammy Award winner Steve Rosenthal, in his recording studio, The Magic Shop. This is Sean Costello at his best, performing his stunning original compositions and well-chosen covers with band mates Paul Linden, Melvin Zachery and Ray Hangen, along with a few guests. This should have been Sean’s breakthrough record — but it remained unmixed and unheard for almost ten years.

The Tigers Have Spoken is a 2004 live album by Neko Case. The album was recorded at three live shows, one in Chicago and two in Toronto, in the spring of 2004. Guest musicians include The Sadies, Carolyn Mark, Kelly Hogan and Jon Rauhouse, and the album was produced by Case and Darryl Neudorf.
